I forgot to post this on Saturday when I finished it!  Oops.  Meal 1 is a holdover from last week.  I went to the farmers market again, finally, so meals 3, 4, 5, and 6 use veg from that trip.  I’m slowly, but surely, getting back into the swing of regular life.  This week has a lot of easy (recipes, but it’s still nice to be cooking new things again!

4. Slow Cooker Basil Parmesan Chicken Pasta Out

And another week goes by where I didn’t make a single post.  I tend to do most of my posting during Friday evenings which are Family TV Night around here.  Sadly, with all of our traveling, we haven’t had one of those in quite some time!  Maybe next week I’ll begin the process of catching up.  Here’s hoping!

In the meantime, dinners are still being cooked.  Meal 1 is a leftover from last week but all of the other (recipes are new to me.  It should be fairly exciting!

In other exciting news, I managed to secure reservations to Alinea.  This is super exciting.  :)

4. Patty Melts w/ simple salads
5. Tilapia Piccata Changed to a leftover night.  So many leftovers!
6. Asian Style Pulled Pork w/ cucumber, cabbage, tortillas
7. Butter Poached Tilapia

I’m still working on getting back in the swing of things as you can probably tell.  Art and I had a great weekend out at the National Harbor and ate some amazing meals.  I hope to be posting some restaurant reviews in the not too distant future.  (Although some of my pictures turned out pretty poor, I need to figure out a better restaurant camera solution.)

Then Art headed away for business travel which you can probably also tell due to the presence of two fish dishes on the menu!

Meals 4 and 6 are new to me and will also use up some meats from the freezer.  I’ve just sent the next 12 cow order to our farmer, so I need to make sure that the freezer is ready for all the new meat when it arrives!  Sadly I don’t think I’ll be able to visit our cow at the county fair this year because my fair buddy is the aforementioned out of town Art.

I hope this is a tasty and motivated week and I hope next week is even better!  I am also done with my own travel until late October, so I’m hoping this will give me a chance to regenerate a bit and work on catching up.

4. Chicken Tetrazzini

I’m still getting back on track from all the travel we’ve been dealing with, so this week’s meal plan is full of repeats because repeats are easy.  I’m also trying to cook a bit extra during the week so that Lance will have some leftovers to tide him over through the weekend.

Menu 8/26/2012

1-6. Out!
7. Kofta Burgers

This is very belated.  The last many weeks have been more than a bit hectic and I’m trying to get back into the swing of things again.  The first step was finding something to make for meal 7 of this week.

Menu 8/19/2012

1-7. Out!

We’ve got a surprising amount of travel going on right now.  Art is traveling for work again and Lance and I are also traveling for another event.  Pretty hectic stuff going on!

Maple Bacon Cookies

This week’s meal plan is early because I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow instead of Sunday as usual.  I only have three meals to plan due to GenCon(!!) and one of those meals is a holdover from last week.  This made it a very easy week to plan.  I believe all of the new (recipes are from Cook’s Illustrated and they’ll use veggies that I plan to pick up at the market.

As you can see, I’m also making lots of cookies to take to GenCon and share with friends!  I will be a busy baker this weekend.

Menu 8/5/2012

1. (Sunday) Leftover Night
2. (Tuesday) Teriyaki Glazed Salmon with Cucumber-Green Onion Relish w/ rice
3. (Thursday) Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos Verde w/ taco fixings Out
4. (Saturday) grilled hanger steaks w/ BBQ Potatoes w/ sweet corn
5. grilled cheeseburgers w/ Sweet Potato Fries w/ Aioli
6. Grill-Roasted Beef Short Ribs w/ Orzo with Zucchini, Tomatoes, and Goat Cheese
7. Chicken and Brie Sandwiches with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes
Test Sweet: Bacon Maple Cookies

This meal plan is based around the veggies that we picked up at today’s market.  Meals 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 use those ingredients.  I’m also planning on getting sweet corn from the market next weekend, and that will go with next Saturday’s planned meal.  I wanted to get corn from the market today, but it just would not go with tonight’s planned meal of Spinach and Chicken Curry.

I have a few meals that are already assigned days due to scheduled happenings in our lives.  Sunday’s meal will be a leftover night, since we have a lot of leftovers we should eat before they go to waste.    Art will be out of town on Tuesday, so Lance and I will be indulging in fish.  I’ll be out of town most of the day on Thursday, so it’s a great night for the slow cooker.

I’m also preparing for our upcoming trip to GenCon with an attempt at Bacon Maple Cookies which were requested by a friend.  I made Chocolate Bacon Cookies last weekend and they were delicious, so I’m hopeful that these will be as well.  If they are, I’ll be taking batches of both as well as some normal Chocolate Chip Cookies for Lance who is not a fan of the bacon + cookie combination.

I’m still working on catching up with posts, but I managed to knock out 19 posts in the last week.  Hopefully the coming week will be just as productive.  It would be nice to be all caught up before the GenCon/Boston/New York trip that is swiftly approaching!

Menu 7/29/2012

1. Tater Tot Casserole
2. Fish with Lemon Caper Sauce w/ rice
3. Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala w/ rice
4. Spinach and Chicken Curry w/ rice
5. Sour Cream Hamburger Noodle Bake
6. Curried Beef Pot Pie
7. Crescent Egg Puffs w/ Tomatoes Roasted with Pesto
Test Sweet: Chocolate Bacon Cookies

Last week didn’t quite go as planned, but I’m hoping for more success this week.  Many of the meals here will be made in larger than normal batches so, at the least, we’ll be eating leftovers instead of eating out.  Leftovers > Out.

The plan is still mostly comfort food, lots of rice, two curries, and casseroles galore.  Thankfully we only got tomatoes, potatoes, and green onions at the market this week, so I’m on track to use those things up.

In other news, I actually posted some (recipes.  Did you see?!

Menu 7/22/2012

1-2. L&G: Out, A: Fends for himself
3. Out
4. Mom’s Chicken w/ Amatriciana
5. doctored up pizza w/ mozz, tomato, pesto salad

7. Tater Tot Casserole Out

I’m not really feeling it right now so this meal plan is a bunch of easy, comfort food type things.  Not super exciting, but it will feed us.
